AMAZONAS

Hello everyone, I'm here again. Have you already decided which part of Colombia to travel? Well, if you haven't decided. Please, keep reading this post. OK, I'm going to give you some places to visit in our Amazonas, a place with a huge amount of flora and fauna, a small green world that man has not yet been able to destroy. Without more to say, let's continue.

1. MONKEY ISLAND: 

This island is 45 minutes from Leticia (Capital of Amazonas) by boat, as a tourist you can walk the paths observing and learning about the monkeys. It is allowed to feed them. There is also a lake, which can be crossed by canoe and allows you to see the landscape from another point of view.

2. AMAZONIC WORLD ECOLOGICAL PARK:

The Amazonic world Ecological Park, located fifteen minutes from Leticia, is an environmental interpretation center that has collections of endemic and fruit plants from the Amazon. Here the importance of caring for the environment is highlighted. The park is ideal for families with children to visit, who have fun seeing the exotic fish in the aquarium.

3. ETHNIC MUSEUM OF AMAZONIC MAN:

This museum is a collection of objects that are representative of the people who live and have lived in this region, including: ceremonial objects, ritualistic objects, agricultural tools, and economic ones. It’s a great place to better understand the people who come from the Amazon .

Its collection of vessels, oars, bows and arrows, used in rituals, ceremonies and other tasks provide valuable information that allows us to learn about the culture of the inhabitants of the jungle. It is located in the Library of the Bank of the Republic and has various representative objects of the Ticuna, Huitoto and Yacuna indigenous groups.

4. AMAYUCA NATURAL PARK:

The Amacayacu Natural Park is the first protected area created in the Colombian Amazon region and it is the only area in the system of parks that conserves flooded forest of the Amazon River. This privileged jungle has more than 5,000 species of plants and its forests are characteristic of a region, which has the biggest diversity of primates in the world.

Boat up the Amazon River to one of its tributaries, the Amacayacu. Here, travelers can appreciate the palafitte Indian dwellings and a protected eco-system that has biological stations, river paths for excursions to look for caimans and howling monkeys, and virgin islands where you can appreciate Victoria Regia.
